Blood Substitute
Ingrid Langley and Patrick Gillard - Book 12 (2008)
DCI James Carrick is playing rugby for a police team when he is slightly injured and has to leave the field. His substitute is DS Cliff Morley who is working undercover investigating a criminal gang operating in the Bristol area. The next day Morley’s horribly mutilated body is found in woodland near that city, the initials RK carved on his torso.
Patrick Gillard and Ingrid Langley, working for the Serious Organised Crime Agency, are called in to investigate. At the same time, Carrick, a friend of theirs, asks them to help him with a private matter: He has discovered that his father, whom he thought long dead, is not only alive but a criminal. His name is Robert Kennedy. Carrick is extremely worried that there is a connection with Morley’s death and that his father is involved with vicious criminals.
